A member-owned shooting and conservation club on 64 wooded acres in Rochester — home to Minnesotans who take the craft seriously since 1952.
Four ranges on 64 wooded acres in Rochester. Members bring their own paper targets and use the target backers provided on every range. Proximity-badge gate access for active members; guests are welcome with a signed waiver.
SMSC hosts classes through Sterling And Time Defense LLC, open to members, their family, and friends. Check the calendar for scheduled dates and sign-up links.
Minnesota Permit to Carry course — classroom instruction and live-fire qualification.
Fundamentals of safe pistol handling, marksmanship, and responsible ownership.
Required safety orientation for new members — complete from home before your first visit.
Reference training for gunshot wounds and range emergencies — available to members.

Join a member-owned nonprofit that's been serving the Rochester area since 1952. Annual dues keep the lights on, the berms clean, and the gate secure — nothing more.
Every active member gets a gate code and can shoot sunrise-to-sunset, any day of the week.
Bring your spouse, family, and up to three non-family guests. Each guest signs a waiver available at the gate.
Active-duty military members can put their membership on hold during deployment — just give the range manager your details.
Winter Trap League, Bullseye League, 2-Gun matches, and regular club events throughout the year.
Monthly member meetings on the 2nd Thursday at 7:30 PM. Your suggestions are valued — this is your club.
Members can participate in Civilian Marksmanship Program events and purchase qualifying firearms through CMP.
Sales tax is included. Pay by cash, check, card, or PayPal. New members complete the online orientation before their first visit — we'll help you get up to speed.
League nights, annual matches, youth days, and the club's signature weekend every February.

Two clubhouses on the property: the main clubhouse, built in 1952, and the dedicated trap clubhouse added in 1977. Groups and individuals can reserve clubhouse and range facilities in advance for training or special events.
SMSC is a member-owned, member-run nonprofit. The board meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM (except October) — member attendance is strongly encouraged. Terms end May 31 of the year shown.
Sunday 10 AM – 1 PM · Tuesday 7 PM – 10 PM. No membership required — all skill levels welcome. Reduced pricing for Southern Minnesota Trap Club members ($20/year, October to October).
